In collaboration with Canada Mortgage and Housing (CMHC), George Brown College’s Institute Without Boundaries (IWB), Juice works Exhibits and the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) Marion’s scope was as producer and interior designer.
Beginning with a mandate of 100% sustainable design, Marion worked as a part of the design team and consulted on all details in the creation of the exhibit. The concept was to create a prototype home that would showcase products and services from across Canada to promote sustainable design and responsible environmental practices. Marion was tasked with sourcing all products, material and décor sponsors fitting the sustainable mandate. She was further involved in securing corporate sponsors to assist funding the project. As sponsors came on board, Marion was tasked with all sponsorship liasing and securing all data and materials necessary to promote their products.

The pavilion was unveiled as the main feature of the 2008 Green Living Show. Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and Toronto Mayor David Miller attended the opening. In the 10 months following the inaugural set up, the exhibit has travelled across the country, visiting 6 major Canadian cities for a total of 12 events. It has covered a total of 24,000 square feet of exhibit, and more than 100,000 people have passed through. As production manager for the exhibit, Marion has liased with all Show Managers and Venues and coordinated installations in all markets across Canada. Marion has worked closely with the CMHC to source and train local staff to effectively communicate with the public during guided tours. With each new Venue and market, the exhibit has been constantly updated and refreshed. All of the interior décor elements have been sourced by Marion to reflect and support each market that the exhibit has appeared insuring local supplier Representation. |
